Drilling Rig Fund

To Our Drilling Rig Donors,

We can’t begin to thank you enough for your donation to our drilling rig project and wanted to give you a status update.

Thanks to all of you, we are very close to our projected amount to fund the new drilling rig. Last year, we put together a team here and in Uganda to work together on all the details of purchasing, delivering, and maintaining the new rig. As things unfolded it became very clear that there were several challenges that  were too risky to responsibly move forward on.  The general consensus of both the logistics team and the board is not to purchase a new rig, but to use a small portion of the funds to repair and maintain the existing rig and use the remaining money to fund more wells. We’re confident we can install 16 more wells as soon as possible with the rig funds.  This will continue to supply immediate access to clean water, their greatest need.
